Jose Mourinho finds himself under a landslide of pressure after he abused two members of his team’s backroom staff during last week’s draw against Swansea

As the dust settled over Chelsea’s disappointing home draw against Swansea City on the opening day of the Barclays Premier League, the spotlight was drawn away from the poor Chelsea performance and also from the splendid Swansea performance, onto a disgusting piece of news that has proved to be the talk of the town since that fateful day.

Who could have thought that the opening weekend of the new Premier League season would be marred by such an atrocious incident from one of the biggest megalomaniacs that the world has ever come across? The fashion in which Jose Mourinho blasted his own team’s physio for running on to the pitch to attend to the stricken Eden Hazard was one of the most repugnant sights that I have ever seen in the game.

The Chelsea boss cut a very subdued figure as he faced the media for the first time since the incident

The way Mourinho reacted against one of his own, was truly shocking and it is absolutely unbelievable to see that he is still swaggering about his business, unreprimanded. Only that he’s not. The Portuguese manager cut a subdued figure in his most recent press conference, on which he was accompanied by the club’s communications officer, Steve Atkins. Mourinho was clearly on the back foot and was intent to bat away any questions that were asked to him about the incident that occurred at the Bridge last week. But so poor is his standing in the world right now that none of the journalists at the event took his threats of walking out any seriously.

The self-proclaimed Special One did get off his chair though before making his way to the door, but any plans he had of exiting the place where quashed by Atkins who sent Mourinho back to his seat like a school boy who had been scolded. Ever since the Swansea game, Dr. Eva Carneiro and her assistant, Jon Fearn have received tremendous support from all over the world. But questions about Mourinho’s behaviour are still unanswered. How could he use such filthy language at two of his colleagues on live television? Who gave him the right to rebuke Carneiro and Fearn on live television once again during the post-match conference? And finally, how could he demote these two individuals and strip them of their duties?

The self-proclaimed Special One launched an unbelievable tirade against Eva Carneiro and Jon Fearn as they rushed on to the pitch to tend to Eden Hazard during Chelsea’s draw against Swansea last week

While we are still unaware as to how this event may play out, one thing is for certain. And that is the fact that Chelsea Football Club are extremely displeased with their manager’s antics. Roman Abramovich has never been a person who has approved of controversy so all the media hype that is surrounding his club at the moment will not be accepted. Carneiro on the other hand, has taken this issue up with her own legal team and it is understood that she is seeking a public apology.

An apology would be the least that the two deserve and I feel that Chelsea’s higher authorities should take the matter in their own hands and rebuke the hypocrite that they call their boss. If you and I were to abuse our colleagues, we’d be sacked the very next day, so why should Mourinho not get cut down to size?
