Liverpool win in Wales?

Tomorrow night Liverpool head to south Wales to face rock bottom and struggling Swansea City on the live Monday night football. Swansea are in the bottom three with West Brom and Southampton, both of whom picked up a point this weekend to open up the gab between themselves and the Swans that little bit more. Swansea need to start winning and winning fast, they have the worst home record in the league though with just two wins and two draws from their eleven games at the Liberty Stadium. Scoring just six goals in that time too along with conceding seventeen. Now they face Liverpool who they were thrashed 5-0 by on Boxing Day at Anfield.

Since that day though they’ve appointment their new manager Carlos Carvalhal who has come in and there has already been some good progress in the five games he’s taken charge of. They picked up just their second away win of the season at Watford as well as getting past high flying Championship side Wolves in the FA Cup. All be it via a replay. They have lost one game though and that was to Spurs at home, who finally broke them down on a very wet and windy night.

Liverpool are clear favourites to win this match so I’m sure most Swansea fans would take a point now if you offered it to them before the match. Saying that, Liverpool have only won twice away in Swansea since they been in the Premier League. That includes last season’s win when they won 2-1 thanks to a late James Milner penalty.

Swansea however are a different and poorer outfit these days compared to their first four or five years in the Premier League, where they always gave a good account of themselves at home. Too many things have got wrong in recent times and too many managerial appointments have taken place as well and they just seem to have lost their way.

Klopp pumped during City win

Can Swansea survive Premier relegation this season? It’s going to be a tough ask but whatever the result tomorrow, more than likely a convincing Liverpool win. It’s the next six or seven Premier League games after that which will define their season. Apart from Arsenal coming to town next they then have the likes of Brighton, Huddersfield, Burnley, West Ham and Southampton to play. All massive games.

As for Liverpool, they’ll still be buzzing from last Sunday’s brilliant win over Premier League title favourites Manchester City although they did nearly blow it at the end. That’s because their goalkeeper situation and defence are still quite poor and that is why Virgil van Dijk has been brought in. Going forward on the other hand they are still fantastic and even without Coutinho last weekend they proved that.

Prediction time: Swansea 1 v Liverpool 3.
