Liverpool set to win the title under Jurgen Klopp

Like them or not, Liverpool look destined to win the title under Jurgen Klopp in the near future. The Reds are playing some scintillating stuff and Klopp’s unique “gegenpress” style is finally starting to pay off – and that is why Liverpool are looking exceptionally strong.

In the opening six weeks, Klopp’s men have already played four matches away from Anfield – including two fixtures against Arsenal and Chelsea. Incredibly, Liverpool won both of those clashes but fell short against newly-promoted Burnley. If the Reds are going to pip their rivals to the crown, they simply cannot afford too many slip-ups.

Liverpool are starting to believe in themselves and that will only help their confidence and momentum going forward. Klopp has got Reds fans dreaming of a Premier League title and a maiden triumph is beginning to look like a genuine possibility this season.

At the time of publication, the Reds are 5/1 to lift the title in Betway.com’s football betting markets; and plenty of fans will be expecting big things from Liverpool this campaign. With the likes of Philippe Coutinho, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino in fine form, the Reds could be primed for a title challenge.

Klopp’s men have been on fire this season, scoring 16 goals so far – only Manchester City have scored more in the same time frame. Pep Guardiola’s side have won six out of six so far but Klopp could get the better of him in the long term. Whilst Liverpool are still suspect defensively, they have the opportunity to build a dynasty era at Anfield under the former Borussia Dortmund boss.

Unfortunately, their defensive deficiencies could come back to haunt them later this season and it might be wise for Liverpool supporters to view their title hunt as a long-term plan.

At the end of the day, the Reds are on the verge of something special and it would be foolish to dismiss their chances of continued success just yet. After all, Klopp has just signed a contract extension that will see him stay at the club until 2022.

Liverpool’s title aspirations hinge on a number of internal factors but Klopp will keep his key men focused on the task at hand. Whilst the Reds are relatively inexperienced when it comes to winning titles, a Premier League triumph is certainly on the horizon. If Klopp’s men don’t win it this season, they will be right up there in the 2017/18 campaign…
